The 2nd Economics League of Unimus (LEU 2) for High School (SMA)/Vocational School (SMK)/Madrasah Aliyah (MA) throughout Central Java was held in the 4th floor of NRC building Faculty of Economics of University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) on Wednesday to Thursday (21-22 May 2014). The Economics League of Unimus is an intelligence test and business plan competition for High School-based institution throughout Central Java that is intended to develop students` knowledge in economics and high level of competence.
State Vocational School 1 (SMKN 1) Salatiga successfully gets the 1st winner in Intelligence Test Competition (LCC) of the 2nd Economics League of Unimus (LEU 2) for High School (SMA)/Vocational School (SMK)/Madrasah Aliyah (MA) in the 4th floor of NRC building the Faculty of Economics of University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) on Wednesday to Thursday (21-22 May 2014). While the 2nd winner is State High School 2 (SMAN 2) Ungaran, and the 3rd winner is State Vocational School 1 (SMKN 1) Demak.
In the Business Plan Competition category (business plan proposal), State Vocational School 1 (SMKN 1) Demak gets the 1st winner, Vocational School (SMK) of Setia Budi Semarang being the 2nd winner, and the 3rd winner is Madrasah Aliyah (MA) of Muhammadiyah Kudus. The winners receive the trophy from the Governor of Central Java, the trophy of the Rector of Unimus , prize and certificate.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics Dr. H. Setia Iriyanto, S.E., M.Si told the press that the 2ndEconomics League of Unimus is organized as a means for students to assess their knowledge in economics and entrepreneurship. The sensibility and attention to entrepreneurship should be better possessed since the students are in the high school level. “There are so many successful students who need to be appreciated and given opportunity regarding to their creativity. It is hopefully will decrease every negative potential and improve their achievement”, said the Dean.
The Chief of Committee of Economics League Shella Indriana and the Governor of Students Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics Unimus Wahid Aangsori said that this event which is held every two years is beneficial to assess the students` creativity in entrepreneurship and economics. “When students since their study at high school have had knowledge in entrepreneurship and are able to prepare entrepreneurship proposal, they are then expected to develop much better at the university.”
